Guwahati, April 26 -- The Assam government has started precautionary steps in Guwahati as heavy rain is expected in the next 48 hours.
Chief Secretary Ravi Kota met senior officials on Saturday to review the situation and check how prepared the city is. All departments have been told to keep equipment and emergency teams ready at all times.
More than 300 areas have been marked as sensitive for landslides, and officials are keeping watch on these locations. Awareness activities are also being carried out in such areas.
