India, Feb. 16 -- In a series of successful, coordinated operations, Assam Rifles, in close collaboration with Manipur Police Commandos, dealt a significant blow to illegal activities in the state by arresting alleged anti-social elements and recovering a massive haul of contraband and military-grade weapons, officials stated on Monday.
During a routine check on Sunday, the joint team established a mobile vehicle check post (MVCP) between Churachandpur and Kangpokpi via Noney district. During the operation, they intercepted a vehicle and recovered 23 cartons of Gudang Garam cigarettes and 65 cartons of Mond Variance cigarettes, valued at approximately Rs 2.9 crore.
