Assam receives Centre's highest JJM 2.0 fund release of Rs 669.92 crore for rural water projects
Guwahati, Aug. 7 -- Assam has secured the largest allocation under the Centre's latest Jal Jeevan Mission(JJM) 2.0 fund release, receiving Rs 669.92 crore through the SNA SPARSH platform to strengthen rural drinking water infrastructure. Tripura also received Rs 5.98 crore under the latest disbursement aimed at supporting the implementation of rural water supply projects across states.
The Ministry of Jal Shakti announced on August 6 that it has reimbursed nearly Rs 5,300 crore to 10 states for rural water supply projects executed during the transition from JJM 1.0 to JJM 2.0. In addition, Rs 865.87 crore has been released to 13 states through the SNA SPARSH platform for ongoing schemes.
