India, March 20 -- Daniel Langthasa of the National People's Party (NPP) submitted his nomination papers on Friday, March 20 to contest the Haflong Assembly seat in Dima Hasao district.
He arrived at the District Commissioner's office, accompanied by NPP national vice president James Sangma and a large group of supporters, and formally completed the nomination process with the election authorities.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Langthasa said he was encouraged by the local community's support. He explained that the NPP is approaching the elections with a fresh agenda aimed at addressing regional issues and strengthening the representation of indigenous communities at a broader level.
