India, March 26 -- Dibrugarh district has finalized arrangements for the April 9 Assam Assembly elections, with authorities ensuring voters in isolated villages and river-bordering communities can easily cast their ballots.
According to Deputy Commissioner Bikram Kairi, the district will operate 1,322 polling stations.
Five of these are located in areas along rivers, where election teams will use boats to reach residents. Local authorities have organized transportation and supplies so voters can cast their votes without leaving their communities.
This year, women are set to lead at around 300 polling booths in the district, showing increased engagement and skills developed through training.
