Guwahati, July 27 -- The Assam government has suspended a professor of the Forensic Medicine Department at Nagaon Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) following his arrest in an alleged bribery case linked to the manipulation of a post-mortem report.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, issued the suspension order placing Manoj Kumar Singh under suspension pending further investigation.

According to officials, Singh was arrested a few days ago after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe in exchange for altering a post-mortem examination report.
