Guwahati, April 13 -- The Assam government has approached the Supreme Court challenging a recent order of the Telangana High Court that granted one-week transit anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera.
Khera is an accused in a case registered in Assam over alleged defamatory remarks made against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The state government filed the special leave petition on April 12 through advocate Shuvodeep Roy, and the matter is expected to be listed for hearing this week.
