Assam Government plans 800 km rural road expansion under Rs 10,000-crore Asom Mala 4.0
Guwahati, Aug. 20 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the expansion of the state's road infrastructure programme through Asom Mala 4.0, a proposed Rs 10,000-crore initiative aimed at improving connectivity in rural areas.
Sarma said on Wednesday that the government intends to extend road connectivity across Assam and bring villages closer to the state's expanding economic network.
According to details shared by the chief minister, the latest phase will cover around 800 km of roads, with a focus on strengthening links in rural and relatively underserved areas.
