Assam floods: Death toll rises to 107 as 1.37 lakh people affected across 10 districts
Guwahati, Aug. 26 -- Assam continues to face widespread flooding, with the latest Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS) report showing that 10 districts, 28 revenue circles and 456 villages remain affected.
The flood death toll has risen to 107, while around 1,37,590 people have been affected across the state. Floodwaters have also submerged 11,933.46 hectares of crop land.
The affected districts are Golaghat, Sivasagar, Hojai, Darrang, Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Charaideo, Nagaon and Biswanath.
Golaghat has recorded the highest number of affected people at 68,239, followed by Sivasagar with 39,495 and Jorhat with 16,259.
