Guwahati, Aug. 18 -- Assam's flood situation showed signs of improvement on August 17, even as one more person drowned in Sivasagar, taking the flood-related death toll in the state to 105, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).

The latest ASDMA bulletin said nearly 31,900 people across four districts-Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Sivasagar continue to be affected by the floods.

Nagaon remains the worst-hit district, with nearly 20,000 people affected, followed by Jorhat with more than 5,000 and Sivasagar with over 4,500. The number marks a significant improvement from Sunday, when around 52,000 people across five districts were affected.
