Guwahati, Aug. 15 -- Assam recorded another death in Sivasagar in the past 24 hours, pushing this year's death toll to 104. The number of people affected by the floods also climbed slightly to more than 78,000 on Friday.

The number of flood-hit districts remained at seven, according to the latest data from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).

The latest fatality was reported from Sivasagar, bringing the total number of flood deaths in the state this year to 104.

Flooding was reported in 313 villages spread across 20 revenue circles in Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Kamrup, Hojai, Jorhat and Lakhimpur.

Golaghat had the highest number of affected people at 30,778, followed by Nagaon with 26,292 and Sivasagar with 12,480....
