Digboi, April 9 -- Voter turnout in Assam's Tinsukia district increased during the day, rising from 17.75% in the early hours to 78.85% by 5 PM on Thursday, 9 April. Polling was continuing at several booths at the time of reporting, and the final turnout figure is expected to increase further.
The hourly polling data shows a consistent increase in voter participation across the district. Turnout rose from 17.75% at 9 AM to 37.53% by 11 AM, an increase of 19.78 percentage points. It reached 56.73% at 1 PM, registering a further increase of 19.20 percentage points. By 3 PM, the figure stood at 71.73%, adding 15 percentage points, and later reached 78.85% by 5 PM, an increase of 7.12 percentage points.
