Guwahati, April 11 -- Repolling is underway on Saturday, April 11, at a polling station in Assam's Sribhumi district (Karimganj North) after complaints of irregularities and unrest during polling held earlier on April 9.
Balloting resumed at 7 am at the Babyland English High School centre, where voters began arriving to cast their votes amid tight security.
The decision to conduct voting again was taken after disruptions at the booth during the previous polling triggered tension and raised doubts about the fairness of the process.
Election officials said the repeat polling was necessary to maintain the credibility of the election and to ensure that the process remains transparent and impartial.
