Doomdooma, April 9 -- As over 2.49 crore voters set to cast their ballots across Assam on Thursday, voices from Kakopathar in Tinsukia district highlighted grassroots demands for better agriculture support, education and rural development.
"We want a government that takes care of farmers and villagers by providing quality education, jobs, business and agricultural opportunities, and a better healthcare system," said Dhanjit Moran at a polling station in Kakopathar.
Polling began at 7 a.m. across all 126 constituencies, with brisk turnout and long queues reported at several booths.
