Guwahati, May 4 -- The 'None of the Above' (NOTA) option saw a limited but notable response in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, crossing the one per cent threshold in the state.

As per data from the Election Commission of India, approximately 1.29% of voters in Assam selected NOTA on electronic voting machines (EVMs).

Although NOTA remained a minor choice overall, Assam was the only state among the five going to polls where it surpassed one per cent.

However, its overall influence on the election results was minimal, as the overwhelming majority of voters supported contesting candidates.
