Guwahati, April 11 -- Guwahati Police has summoned Opposition alliance candidate Kunki Chowdhury to appear before the investigating officer in connection with an alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the ongoing Assam Assembly election.

27-year-old Kunki Chowdhury, a candidate of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) and an ally of the Congress, is contesting from the Guwahati Central constituency. She is among the youngest candidates in the fray. She has denied all allegations.

The Officer-in-Charge of Panbazar Police Station issued a notice on Saturday directing Chowdhury to appear before investigators in connection with the case.
