Guwahati, July 12 -- A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan from Assam, who had been missing for more than a week, was found dead at Kota Junction railway station in Rajasthan on July 11, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Amarendra Ray, a native of Manikpur in Assam's Bongaigaon district. Authorities confirmed his identity after recovering official identification documents from his belongings.

According to available information, Ray left Bijni in Chirang district on July 2 to continue his journey. On July 3, he reportedly got off at Tundla Junction in Uttar Pradesh and stayed overnight at a hotel near Agra Fort.
