India, March 19 -- The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday announced a statewide protest against the recent surge in LPG cylinder prices, intensifying its attack on the Centre over what it termed an "unjustified economic burden" on households.

In a circular issued on March 18, APCC General Secretary Pradyut Bhuyan instructed all District Congress Committees to organise peaceful demonstrations across the state on Thursday, March 19. The protests are expected to be held in marketplaces and other prominent public locations to ensure maximum visibility and participation.
