Assam CM receives fresh death threat on social media
Guwahati, Aug. 17 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has received a fresh alleged death threat through social media, prompting Juria Police to search the residence of a man in Garaimari of Nagaon district.
The man, identified as Mubarak Ali, allegedly posted a Facebook comment threatening to kill Sarma in central Assam if he was paid Rs 2 crore.
Juria Police conducted a search at Ali's residence as part of their investigation into the alleged threat.
The social media post also allegedly included a "Pakistan Zindabad" reference.
Police, however, are yet to establish the authenticity of the Facebook account and determine whether Ali was responsible for the alleged post.
