Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday virtually inaugurated key natural gas infrastructure projects, including the commencement of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply in Mangaldai and new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facilities in Tezpur.

The projects, implemented by North East Gas Distribution Company Limited (NEGDCL), are aimed at expanding access to cleaner fuel for households, commercial establishments and vehicles across the state.

The expansion is expected to strengthen Assam's energy infrastructure, reduce dependence on conventional fuels and support the state's transition towards cleaner and more sustainable sources of energy.
