Guwahati, July 25 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday expressed gratitude to former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, praising his role in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and expanding higher education infrastructure across the country.

In a post on X, Sarma said Pradhan had worked to "restore the civilisational spirit of Bharat" and decolonise India's education system during his tenure as Union Education Minister. He described the implementation of the National Education Policy as one of Pradhan's most significant contributions, saying it was carried out despite political challenges.
