Assam Budget 2026 focuses on infrastructure, welfare, jobs and agriculture
Guwahati, July 10 -- Assam Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah on Friday presented the State Budget for 2026-27, proposing major investments in infrastructure, welfare, agriculture, education and employment, with a focus on capital expenditure and social sector spending.
Presenting the Budget in the Legislative Assembly, Baruah announced an allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for infrastructure development, including Rs 4,954 crore for the Guwahati Ring Road Project.
