Guwahati: Assam is set to experience an intense spell of hot and humid weather over the next 48 hours, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning that temperatures across several parts of the state are likely to remain 3degC to 5degC above normal.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati, maximum temperatures are expected to exceed 35degC in several places due to clear to partly cloudy skies and strong solar heating during the daytime.
