Guwahati, Sept. 2 -- The first death anniversary of legendary Assamese singer and musician Zubeen Garg will be observed with a three-day commemorative programme at Zubeen Kshetra from September 17.

The programme has been announced by Garg's wife, Garima Saikia Garg, who said the event will bring together prayers, cultural activities and religious observances to honour his memory and contribution to Assamese music and culture.

September 17 will be observed as 'Zubeen Divas', marking the beginning of the three-day programme. People from across Assam are expected to take part in the commemorative events.
