Dibrugarh: A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her four-year-old daughter in Assam's Sivasagar district, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning at Khorahat Grant tea garden under Demow police station. According to police, the woman allegedly slit the child's throat with a sharp weapon before attempting to take her own life.

Family members said only the mother and daughter were present at home when the incident took place.

Both were rushed to a nearby government hospital with critical injuries, where doctors declared the child dead. The woman, who sustained severe injuries near her neck, was later referred to Assam Medical College and Hos...
