Dibrugarh, July 12 -- Panic gripped the Naharani area under Khowang in Assam's Dibrugarh district on Saturday after a wild buffalo entered the locality and attacked two residents, leaving them seriously injured.

The injured have been identified as Bharat Saikia (46), a resident of Naharani, and Sarat Saikia (51), a resident of the nearby Nagaon village.

According to local sources, the buffalo suddenly turned aggressive and charged at the two men, causing severe injuries.

Following the incident, local residents rushed the injured to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
