Doomdooma, April 14 -- Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team from Margherita Police Station carried out a late-night raid at Ledo Tea Estate in Tinsukia district on Monday, seizing suspected heroin and apprehending two persons.

Police said 10.19 grams of suspected heroin were recovered from a residence during the operation, which was part of an intensified drive to curb the growing drug network in the tea garden belt of upper Assam. Mobile phones and empty plastic containers, believed to have been used for storage and distribution of narcotics, were also seized.
