Assam: TTD acquires 10 acres for Northeast's first Sri Venkateswara temple in Kamrup

Guwahati: In a significant development for devotees in the Northeast, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday officially acquired possession of a 10-acre plot at Amerigog village in Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district for the construction of a Sri Venkateswara temple.
The project is part of a broader initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government to establish temples dedicated to Lord Venkateswara in every State and Union Territory across the country. The proposal gained momentum after discussions between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a meeting held in Guwahati last year.
