Doomdooma: The process of preparing and revising the electoral rolls for the 2026 general elections to the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (SKAC) has officially commenced in Tinsukia district following a notification issued by the Assam State Election Commission.

The revision exercise, covering six council constituencies, will culminate in the publication of the final electoral roll on August 3.

The electoral roll revision is being carried out under Rule 16 of the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (Election) Rules, 2010. January 1, 2026, has been fixed as the qualifying date for determining voter eligibility.
