Guwahati, Oct. 5 -- The Supreme Court is set to pronounce its order on Monday, October 5, on the bail petition filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta, one of the accused in the case concerning the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.

The hearing on Mahanta's bail plea has already been concluded, with a bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice R Mahadevan scheduling October 5 for the pronouncement of its order.

The matter had remained pending as the court considered arguments from both sides and reviewed the progress of the trial. The Supreme Court had also sought updates from the Assam government on the proceedings before considering the bail plea.
