Assam: Sarbananda Sonowal reviews progress of state's largest multi-sports stadium in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex at Khanikar in Dibrugarh, which is set to become Assam's largest multi-sports stadium upon completion.
During the visit, Sonowal inspected various infrastructure facilities and reviewed ongoing development works at the project site.
Built on 104 bighas of land, the sports complex is being developed in phases. Phase-I, constructed at a cost of Rs 233 crore, was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 30, 2026, and currently has a seating capacity of around 5,000 spectators.
