Guwahati: Police in Assam's Samaguri launched an operation against the alleged theft and illegal storage of LPG cylinders and recovered 14 suspected stolen gas cylinders during a raid carried out at Penai.

According to police sources, the cylinders were seized from the residence of one Gulzar Hussain, where the stolen LPG cylinders had allegedly been kept.

Police detained Gulzar Hussain in connection with the case, and further questioning is underway as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials said the raid was conducted following the confession of two accused thieves, identified as Abidul Haque and Imdadul Haque, who had been arrested two days earlier in connection with the alleged theft of LPG ...
