Guwahati: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (V&AC), Assam, recovered around Rs 50 lakh in cash and more than 500 grams of gold jewellery during searches conducted at the residence of arrested ACS officer Lachit Kumar Das.

The searches were carried out on Thursday night at Das's flat in the G-A Block of Queen Garden Apartment in Guwahati's Beltola locality following his arrest in an alleged bribery case linked to a land transaction.

Officials also seized several life insurance policy documents during the raid.

According to the vigilance department, Das, who serves as Additional Director in the Directorate of Land Records and Surveys, owns multiple plots of land in Guwahati, a luxury apa...
