Guwahati, May 3 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking in southern Assam, security forces seized a large consignment of suspected Yaba tablets worth nearly Rs 1 crore in Cachar district and arrested two alleged peddlers.
Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Jirighat Police conducted a search operation near the Manipur border at Jirighat. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Lakhipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Prithwiraj Rajkhowa, with Jirighat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rana Kumar Nath present at the site.
