Dibrugarh, April 22 -- The detention of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh under the National Security Act (NSA) is set to expire on Wednesday, with a Punjab Police team already in Dibrugarh to take him into custody in a separate case.

Sources said the arrest is likely to be carried out immediately after the expiry of the detention period, following due legal procedures. The case relates to the February 2023 attack on the Ajnala police station in Punjab.

Amritpal Singh, leader of Waris Punjab De, has been lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail since April 23, 2023, after his arrest in Punjab.
