Doomdooma: Two alleged bookies were arrested during a late-night raid conducted on Thursday under the jurisdiction of Doomdooma Police Station in Assam's Tinsukia district, police confirmed on Friday.

The operation, carried out at Borhapjan following specific intelligence inputs, led to the seizure of cash, gold jewellery, mobile phones, and suspected betting-related digital records.

"A case bearing number 76/2026 has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and further investigation is underway," Rahul Gogoi, the investigating officer in the case, told Northeast Now over the phone.
