Guwahati, Sept. 8 -- More than 11.38 lakh voters across five Assembly constituencies in Assam's Nagaon district will be eligible to vote in the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, newly appointed District Commissioner Aranyak Saikia said on September 7.

Speaking to reporters on the district's election preparedness, Saikia said the electorate comprises 11,38,362 voters.

To facilitate polling, the Election Commission will establish 1,339 polling stations at 684 locations across the district.

As part of the security measures, the district administrations of Nagaon and Morigaon have directed residents to deposit all firearms in their possession from Monday.
