Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Friday outlined the BJP-led government's vision for the next five years during his maiden address to the 16th Assam Assembly, amid a walkout by Opposition legislators over issues including inflation.

The disruption began within minutes of the Governor's address on the second day of the Assembly session, as Congress and Raijor Dal MLAs entered the Well of the House demanding that the government address what they described as core public issues instead of focusing on its achievements.

Congress legislators displayed placards and raised slogans before walking out of the Assembly.
