North Lakhimpur, Sept. 18 -- A migrant worker from Assam's Lakhimpur district died at a hospital in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, days after sustaining injuries in an accident, according to his family.

The deceased was identified as Sarat Das, son of Narayan Das and Jirumai Das of Sensowa village under Narayanpur Police Station. He was reportedly working at a tile-making factory in Tamil Nadu.

Family members said Das met with an accident three days ago and was admitted to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after undergoing treatment. The family could not immediately ascertain the name or exact location of the factory where he worked.
