Doomdooma, April 25 -- A young man allegedly jumped into the Buridehing river in Margherita in Assam's Tinsukia district on Friday afternoon while appearing on a Facebook Live stream.

The individual has been identified as Rupam Chakraborty, a local resident who worked with stage decoration setups and was known in the area for his involvement in such activities.

The incident is said to have occurred at the Chhath Puja ghat located near Shyam Hall Talkies.

He reportedly walked into the river during a Facebook Live, and the strong current pulled him away within seconds. He vanished within seconds, leaving both those at the spot and online viewers shocked.
