Assam: Man arrested for alleged Rs 30 crore BTC contract forgery

Guwahati: Kokrajhar Police have arrested a man accused of forging official documents in the names of senior Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) leaders to allegedly secure government contracts worth nearly Rs 30 crore.
The accused, identified as Rajiv Kumar Brahma, was arrested following allegations that he used forged letterheads and fake signatures of BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Executive Member Prakash Basumatary in connection with proposed contract allotments.
According to the allegations, the forged documents were used in an attempt to facilitate contracts worth Rs 20 crore under the Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Department headed by Mohilary and another Rs 10 crore under the Soc...
