Guwahati, July 12 -- Reinforcing its crackdown on narcotics, Majuli Police on Saturday destroyed 115.919 kg of ganja seized in separate anti-drug operations conducted across the district.

The contraband had been recovered during raids in the Dakhinpat-Kumargaon area and Perabhari village under the jurisdiction of Majuli Police Station.

The seized ganja was destroyed at the Majuli Brick Field in Boritika after all legal formalities were completed.

The disposal was carried out under the supervision of the District Level Drug Disposal Committee in accordance with prescribed legal procedures and environmental norms to ensure the safe destruction of the narcotic substance.
