Guwahati, Sept. 1 -- Three members of a family were killed after a landslide struck their residence in Guwahati's Mathgharia area amid heavy and persistent rainfall on Tuesday.

The incident occurred while the family was asleep, with the victims identified as Nagen Rajbongshi, Meena Rajbongshi, and their daughter, Chunu Rajbongshi. Their son was also injured and admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

The incident occurred as incessant rainfall continued across Guwahati, increasing the threat of landslides in vulnerable and hilly areas. Rescue teams and local authorities reached the site and began clearing the debris while assisting those affected.
