Guwahati: Alleging large-scale corruption in funds meant for the welfare of the indigenous Chutia community, Kundil Sena staged a protest in Jorhat on Tuesday demanding a probe into an alleged Rs 125-crore scam linked to the Chutia Development Council (CDC)

More than 100 members of the organisation, including women, took part in the demonstration, raising slogans such as "We want justice", "Dissolve the Development Council" and "CDC Go Back".

The protesters alleged that the council, constituted in 2020 for the development of the Chutia community, failed to deliver meaningful benefits despite receiving Rs 125 crore over the past five years.
