Guwahati, Aug. 19 -- The main accused in the mysterious death of a young woman in Assam's Jorhat district has been arrested from Rongajan in Golaghat, police said.

Aryan Goswami was taken into custody in connection with the woman's death after she allegedly fell ill following a gathering at a flat in Jorhat on August 15. She was later admitted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), where she died.

Police had earlier detained three women in connection with the case. The investigation began after the woman's family filed an FIR at the Rowriah Police Outpost, alleging that she had been sexually assaulted and murdered.
