Dibrugarh: A 32-year-old man was arrested in Dibrugarh for allegedly attempting to murder his wife after attacking her with a large stone, leaving her critically injured.

The victim, identified as Janmoni Gogoi (26), sustained severe head injuries and is undergoing treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH).

Police identified the accused as Ajay Gogoi alias Bablu Gogoi, a resident of Bagidal Tiniali in Assam's Sivasagar district. The couple had been living in a rented house at Krishna Nagar Thana Gali in Dibrugarh's Chiring Chapori area.
