Guwahati, Sept. 20 -- Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has said the HSLC (Matric) and Higher Secondary final examinations are likely to be held later than usual following disruptions caused by the recent floods in the state.

Pegu made the announcement during a visit to Deomarnai in Darrang district, where he attended the inauguration of the newly constructed academic building at Deomarnai Higher Secondary School.

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, has already extended the regular teaching period for Class X students until February 22, 2027, and for Class XII students until March 8, 2027, citing disruptions caused by the recent floods and ongoing Census-related activities.
