Doomdooma: Amid rising concerns over cervical cancer among women, an awareness programme focusing on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination was held at a school in Doomdooma on Saturday.

The initiative was organised to spread awareness among adolescent girls and their guardians about the importance of HPV vaccination and the health risks associated with the virus, which often goes unnoticed in India.

During the programme, medical experts stated that HPV infection is one of the primary causes of cervical cancer, a life threatening disease responsible for thousands of deaths each year due to inadequate awareness and delayed preventive care.
