Pathsala, Sept. 24 -- Heavy trucks entering Pathsala town during restricted hours have emerged as a concern for residents and commuters, with the movement of commercial vehicles adding to congestion on the town's busy roads.

Under the existing traffic restrictions, heavy vehicles are not permitted to enter the town between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Residents and commuters, however, allege that several trucks continue to enter Pathsala during the restricted hours.

The movement of heavy vehicles become particularly disruptive during peak hours, when students, shoppers and other commuters crowd the main roads. Residents say the trucks slow traffic on already congested stretches and contribute to long queues.
