Guwahati: The Assam government on Wednesday carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring and reassigning several senior IAS and Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers across key departments, public sector undertakings and district administrations.

The reshuffle, notified by the Department of Personnel, is aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing administrative efficiency across the state.

Among the prominent changes, senior IAS officer Syedain Abbasi, currently serving as Special Chief Secretary of the Public Health Engineering and Water Resources Departments, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Irrigation Department.
